
Journey to Uros Floating Island – Half Day
The journey begins from the main port to the floating islands of the Uros, which is an archipelago built from the root of the reeds, this type of building still keeps a very traditional lifestyle that people share with travelers. Their survival depends on fishing, hunting, and collection of eggs of birds, tourism and handicraft. The people from these islands prefer to keep isolated from civilization. The reason is their ancestors choose to live sailing in a primitive way. Today we can imagine, see and appreciate the wonderful lifestyle of one of the most ancient ethnic groups in the Highlands. Sail in an enigmatic boat built of reeds that was used by Thor Heyerdahl (Kon-Tiki expedition Ra II).
