Day 1: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Paititi Lodge
We will depart from Cusco very early in the morning and start ascending to Paucartambo which is a high mountain area. Along the way we will visit funeral towers known as “chullpas”. Then we will descend and pass through the cloud forest full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. We will stop to have the chances to observe the mating ritual of the famous Andean cock-of-the-rock (Rupicolaperuviana). There will be the opportunity of observing the Amazonian Umbrella bird (CephalopterosOrnatus), Trogons and many other species.
If we are lucky enough we will witness the only South American bear, the spectacled bear (Tremarctosornatus). In the afternoon, we will be arriving to the town of Atalaya, from where we will take a 30-minute boat to our lodge. We will cross Madre De Dios River.

Day 2: Paititi Lodge
After enjoying a tasty breakfast, we will start walking to our view point to observe the towns located around the river and then continue into the jungle to see species of birds, insects and other small animals that live around. You will spend the night at our lodge.

Day 3: Paititi Lodge – Parrots Clay Lick – Machuhuasi Lake
We will get up early and cross the river for 25 minutes to visit the parrots clay lick where is possible to observe a big quantity of parrots that congregate daily and after we will return to lakeMachuhuasi and take the boat, the ride is 2 hours. Along the way we can spot other species of birds such as the hoatzin. Once in land we will walk for one hour more until we get the lodge. You will spend the night at our lodge.

Day 4: Paititi Lodge – Atalaya – Cusco
After beakfast, we will return to Atalaya by boat and once there we will be transported to Cusco by bus. Transfer to the hotel.
