Day 1: Cusco – Aguas Calientes
The official departure time will depend on the available train schedule (around 4:00 or 5:00am).
We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and then we depart by bus to the Ollantaytambo train station, place where we will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Along the 2-hour route you will be able to enjoy of spectacular landscapes of the Sacred Valley, surrounding Andean peaks and cloud forest following the course of the river down the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will be welcomed by one of our representatives who will transfer you to your hotel.
Note: On your own, you can go to Mandor Valley; this is a lovely option for nature lovers, a beautiful place to hone your flora and fauna photography skills, capturing many flowers, orchids, local bird species and stunning views of the mountains and the river.
To get to Mandor valley you have to hike alongside the Urubamba river and the railroad track til the 114.4km. (3 hours round trip)

Day 2: Machu Picchu
After an early breakfast around 05:00 am we will pick you up at your hotel to take you to the bus station and then board the bus to Machu Picchu archeological site. The guide goes up with you and once there you will have a 2 hour guided tour. We will visit the Intiwatana (Temple of the Sun), the Temple of the Condor, the Temple of the Three Windows, Andean terraces and other places of interest. After the guided tour you will have enough time to walk around the archaeological complex, capture these incredible memories with your camera and feel and the power and tranquility of this sacred place.
You have the option to hike up Huayna Picchu, the Young Mountain ($12), or Machu Picchu Mountain, the Old Mountain ($10)( prior booking necessary). In the afternoon you walk and take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to take the afternoon train to Ollantaytambo from where we will transport you back to Cusco by bus, arriving in the evening.
