Inca Trail 2D/1N

The Inca trail is considered one of the most beautiful and stunning trails in America and it definitely provides a lifetime experience that you will never forget. The Inca trail passes through many archeological sites along the way and offers wonderful views and sights.

The Incas used the following path to the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu:
INCA TRAIL 2 DAYS ITINERARY:

  • Level of Difficulty: Normal (Easy)
  • Route: Closed in February

Huayna

Day 1: Cusco – Km 104 – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas Calientes

The journey begins very early in the morning. We will head to Ollantaytambo station to take the train to KM 104 which is the starting point of the trek. We will walk to Chachabamba (2270m/7448f), where the guide will explain about othe function of this archeological site. Afterwards we will continue to Wiñayhuayna (2650m/8694f), the most important site of the Inca Trail besides Machu Picchu. Then the path will take us to the Sun Gate “Inti Punku”, from where you will have an amazing view of Machu Picchu and can enjoy the sunset. After spending a little time on the archeological site of Machu Picchu we will walk to the town of Aguas Calientes where the journey ends for the first day.

Machu Picchu Travel

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Sanctuary of Machu Picchu – Cusco

After an early breakfast we will leave the hotel to head towards Machu Picchu by bus. We recommend going very early to avoid big crowds, this is a good time to enjoy the ancient spirit of the site when it is calm. Once you arrive to the citadel at around 6AM you will have guided tour and learn more about the history and culture of Incas. Then you will have plenty of time to explore on your own. When you are ready to get down to Aguas Calientes, you will take the bus down. In the town you can enjoy a relaxing time at the hot springs, the entrance ticket is 10 soles per person. The train will depart from Aguas Calientes in the late afternoon.
